Most people do not think of adult acne, they think
of high school and being the teenager in class with
a face full of pimples and how glad they are to be
out of all that. Well, it is not quite over for some
people. Adult Acne usually occurs in the young as
they reach puberty. The skin becomes a lot more greasy,
infecting and swelling the pores which in turn causes
blackheads and pimples. Many teens go through years
of acne and sometimes there are permanent scars. But
if you did not suffer from acne in high school, there
is still a possibility of acne in adult hood.

All Grown up with Acne
Adult Acne can actually occur in your twenties and
even in your forties - yes middle age. It happens
to a lot of people every day. Some people may see
their acne coming back after having a clear face for
years. Acne in adults and teenagers is caused by the
hair follicles in the body breaking off and oil from
the skin and body particles becoming trapped and building
up. It is not caused by dirt.
Those who use thick sun block everyday, trying to
ward off the sun's rays and stay looking young, may
inadvertently look too young by causing adult acne
pimples. Try to buy a brand of sun block which is
specifically made for the face. While this is not
guaranteed to keep the pores immaculate, it will reduce
the amount of clogging. Anything that clogs the pores,
whether in an adult or child, can cause pimples. Also,
adult women should be careful about the amount of
make up they apply to their faces as anything that
is oil based will clog the pores.
Scrubbing and Poking is Bad
Stay away from those 10 x magnification mirrors as
they are not going to help. Picking at the face, as
an adult, and trying to make sure everything is perfect
will actually cause the pores to swell and make the
face red. This will eventually lead to pimples popping
up. A pimple needs to erupt so by trying to squeeze
or pop it before it has reached the surface, can
make matters even worse.
Adults with acne are very likely to make their acne
worse or even cause it with reckless actions that
seem to be making the face clearer. Instead of scrubbing
and covering up, go natural and give the pores a break.
Cleansers and toners are safe as long as they are
not too oily. Adult acne can be prevented in some
cases if a person takes care of their face. In other
cases acne, that disappeared at the end of the teen
years, may flare up again or it could be in the genes
as acne is occasionally passed down through the parents.
If your own parents suffered from acne in their forties,
there is a chance that you may also suffer.
