Male genital herpes that is caused by the HSV virus
is actually a sexually transmitted disease that will
manifest itself within the first few weeks of an infection
from an infected sex partner. Since this is a sexually
transmitted disease, male genital herpes cannot be
spread by any other means apart from intercourse or
any other act of sex. It can be contracted too if
one has multiple sex partners, some of them already
having herpes. Accidental infection can be caused
by having casual sex with someone infected with the
herpes simplex virus.
Male genital herpes can be of two different types,
namely, Herpes
Simplex Virus Type-1 (HSV, Type-1) and the Herpes
Simplex Virus Type-2 (HSV, Type-2). However, male
genital herpes is mostly caused by HSV-2. In some
cases though, HSV Type-1 (that is responsible for
the cold sore disease), also leads to male genital
herpes. Incidentally though in recent years, there
has been an increase in the number of reported cases
of male genital herpes from a HSV 1 infection.
As for symptoms of male genital herpes, the infected
person may experience an increased skin sensitivity,
burning itching or pain at the place of the infection
before the blisters start to appear. The affected
skin gets red and then erupts with several small blisters
that are called vesicles. These vesicles get filled
up with a clear, straw-colored fluid and ultimately
break, giving rise to shallow ulcers. These squat
ulcers are quite painful.
The symptoms of male genital herpes also include
fever, muscle aches, malaise and decreased appetite.
Symptoms sometime include sores on the genital area
and pain during urinating if the urine passes over
the sores. And if they are located on the penis, then
too there is some pain and problems while urinating.
Men often experience additional symptoms of fever
or flu-like condition, back pain and headache. Swollen
glands, unrelated abdominal pressure and discharge
from penis are not too uncommon as well.
Unfortunately, there is no cure for male genital
herpes till today though herpes
treatment medications are available to provide
relief to most of the symptoms. Natural treatments
such as H-Away
are designed to effectively eliminate
your herpes outbreak.
Beware, though there are many available, but in most
cases, painkillers may not do the job well.
Despite all probable efforts, male genital herpes
blisters cannot be removed by cryotherapy (liquid
nitrogen therapy) or a cone biopsy. Males subjected
to natural or pharmaceutical immune suppressors experience
more frequent outbreaks and shoddier response medications.
What really happens is that impaired immunity makes
the body unable to stop emerging lesions that are
associated with the burning sensation, pain, urinary
dysfunction, fever and a swelling of the lymph nodes
in the groin area.
Recurrent male genital herpes symptoms often occur
until the immune system gets the opportunity to wage
a proper war against the virus. Recurrent male genital
herpes is also possible if one comes into contact
with another infected person even before the earlier
infection has been controlled.
