What Is Jin Shin Jyutsu or JSJ?
When one or more of these paths become blocked, this damming effect may lead to discomfort or even pain.
You can carry out Jin Shin Jyutsu yourself, helping to balance the energy and emotions through stimulating those meridians in your hands by holding different fingers in turn.
Hearing about this method of healing
People often learn of Jin Shin Jyutsu by word of mouth, when someone (who has had a positive and dramatic experience of the work) recommends it to a friend. It’s often used as a complement to conventional healing methods. One of its great advantages is that one can easily learn simple self-help techniques that supplement sessions from a practitioner by holding each thumb or finger in turn and combining with breathing exercises.
You can focus on one special area or combine for a whole body balance
Holding each digit in turn can help with the treatment of many different physical and mental conditions. You can find out more of what these conditions are if you go to this site.
Each digit has a different emotion or attitude attributed to it
- The Thumb – worry, depression or anxiety
- The Index Finger – fear, mental confusion or frustration
- The Middle Finger – anger, irritability or indecisiveness
- The Ring Finger – sadness, fear of rejection, grief or negativity
- The Little Finger – overdoing it, low self-esteem, insecurity, judgmental or nervousness
For a five minute demonstration, it is worth checking out a short video on youtube where you will see how each thumb and then each finger is held in turn, ending with the palms of the hand.
The Palm – balance equilibrium or breath of life.
