Eczema on Pelvis
Eczema on PelvisEczema is inflammation of the skin that is very itchy and is typically found in infants and young children but many adults suffer from the condition as well. Aggravated by heat and excessive moisture, eczema on the pelvis is more likely in young children and babies because they spend so much time in diapers or nappies. Dry skin can be another problem, triggering an eczema outbreak.
Extra care is needed to soothe the irritated skin
- When washing the groin area, avoid using soap. A cool to lukewarm bath with 3/4 cup of baking soda mixed into the water for 15 minutes in the morning works well before patting dry without drying the skin completely. Apply a natural moisturizing lotion, cream or oil to the skin.
- Repeat the process in the evening with a cool bath and colloidal oatmeal. Soak for 15 minutes and pat dry. Colloidal oatmeal can be found at your local pharmacy or health store. Moisturize again afterwards.
- Always avoid any irritants that can aggravate the skin
