Yeast Infection - Symptoms and Treatment
Yeast are minute organisms, called candida fungus that live on human body in small numbers.
The problem arises when their number grows. In the vagina, its acidity prevents yeast from growing.
If the acidity of the vagina decreases due to any reason, then too much yeast growth causes vaginal yeast infection.
Both men and women can have yeast infection in any part of the body such as underarms, nails, mouth , genitals,and between toes. In women, it is very common in the vagina. Yeast infection is very uncomfortable and irritating. Yeast infection may be due to diabetes, pregnancy, lower body immunity, poor nutrition, and some medications like antibiotics and birth control pills.
Symptoms of Yeast Infection
Itching, swelling or burning around the vulva and/or in the vagina are some of the symptoms of yeast infection. A white thick vaginal discharge and a burning sensation during urination may also be due to yeast Infection.
Note that these symptoms are also the symptoms of HIV & STDs infections. So if you have any of the above symptoms, talk to your doctor to be sure that a yeast infection is the cause. You should definitely consult your doctor if you have fever and a discharge with foul smell along with the above symptoms.
How to Avoid Yeast Infection?
To avoid yeast infection, you should not wear synthetic-fiber underwear or panties. Do not keep your vagina wet for a long time. Change wet clothes as soon as possible.
Treatment of Yeast Infection
