What are skin tags (cutaneous papilloma)?

Skin tags are a very common condition and because they often occur in overweight or obese people, they can be a useful early warning sign of ill health such as diabetes type 2.

Generally, skin tags are small, benign, non cancerous, pendulous sacs known as acrochordon. They are more of a nuisance than a health problem, usually occurring on the neck, the armpits, beneath the breast (and other skin folds or creases) or in the eyelids.

Sometimes skin tags will develop in clusters hanging off places like the eyelids or neck. Where there is one, there are often more, particularly on the face, chest and back. The frequency of skin tags will increase with age and obesity. They usually occur in equal numbers in both males and females.

Skin tags can also occur in the groin and perianal area. Genital skin tags can cause considerable embarrassment because a sexual partner might mistake them for a sexually transmitted disease which they are not. An anal skin tag usually occurs as a result of a prior anorectal injury or condition such as an untreated hemorrhoid, and occurs on the anal verge.

When they first occur, skin tags are usually tiny bumps looking something like pimples. As they grow, it is clear that they are hanging off the skin by a narrow stalk but can still sometimes be mistaken for a mole. Some are thin and wrinkled while others look more substantial. They are usually the same color as the surrounding skin but occasionally people will have skin tags that are slightly darker. A normal skin tag will range in size from 1mm to 1 cm and, if not removed, could grow to the size of a grape. They are so common that it is likely that 60% of the population will have one or more skin tags by the time they reach 65.

Many people prefer to remove skin tags because of their appearance and the fact that they become irritated or caught on clothing or jewellery or injured when shaving.

There is also a rare type of skin tag called fibroma where the tags can grow very large (anything from the size of a pea up to the size of an egg). Fibromas start off small but keep on growing every year.

I ordered your H-Skin Tags which has been most successful in removing the skin tags from my neck. However, the only problem is that your customer care department advised against using the oil too close to my eyes because of sensitivity issues. I appreciate your concern. I am very against having any skin tags removed by other methods which could of course be painful and lead to scarring.

A fried of mine told me about your skin tag solution so I placed an order on a Friday for a bottle of your H-Skin Tags product. I wanted to get it the next day which is why I went overnight. Unfortunately I only got my package on Monday, when I thought I was going to get it on Saturday - when I called in I spoke to a nice lady who apologized if there was any confusion on the page I read but the shipping was for business days only so it was delivered on time. I was a bit angry but I guess more at myself for not reading it more carefully.
