Genital herpes is among the most common sexually transmitted
diseases that pass from one affected person to another
through physical contact. It is a highly contagious
disease and is usually passed on when there is either
straight sex, anal or orals sex.
Caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus or HSV or HSV
2 (HSV 1 leads to oral herpes), the symptoms of genital
herpes are typically the growth of small blisters
or lesions on the genital organs of both males and
females. In males the symptoms are noticed in the
penis, the anus, buttocks and even in the inner thigh
region. In females genital herpes is seen in the labia,
vulva, clitoris, pubis and also the anus. Though genital
herpes is a sexually transmitted disease, but still
can still happen to children, particularly if the
mother was infected with the virus during pregnancy.
Interestingly not everyone develop the symptoms of
genital herpes – there are people who carry
the virus, but never ever show the symptoms of genital
herpes.
