The candida fungi live on all surfaces of our bodies. Sometimes they can become so numerous they cause infections, particularly in warm and moist areas. Such infections caused by candida albicans are vaginal yeast infections, thrush, skin and diaper rash, skin folds infections and nail bed infections.
Candida often starts to multiply due to the taking of antibiotics for other health conditions. This can cause a candida overgrowth and bacteria associated with it can get into the blood stream resulting in sore joints, sinus problems etc.
For vaginal yeast infections, remember:

This diet can be challenging for many especially if you are used to one full of sugar, refined carbohydrates, caffeine and processed food. Discontinue wheat, dairy and sugar for the duration of the treatment and drink your daily 8 glasses of filtered water together with frequent servings of natural or plain yoghurt.
Don't be disheartened if early in the diet, you notice your symptoms worsening. When candida is killed, it releases proteins and toxins. You should notice improvements in 2 to 4 weeks. Later you can start to slowly introduce some foods with a low sugar content again such as apples and berries.
The best foods to eat are: organic or free range meat, poultry and eggs; cold pressed oils; cultured foods; natural sweeteners such as vegetable glycerine or stevia; vegetables;non-glutinous grains such as wild and brown rice; legumes such as black-eyed peas, chickpeas and lentils; nuts and seeds; a daily cup of diluted apple cider vinegar in lemon; and herbal teas. If you not sure if you can eat a particular food then remember to: prepare your food with a spice like ginger to kill any yeasts.
