Top Natural Solution for Eye Wrinkles
What are eye wrinkles?
While we know that eye wrinkles are folds of skin that form around the eyes, you might not know that there are three types of eye wrinkles.
The first is known as dynamic wrinkles and these are creases in the skin that come about when you make specific faces over time. These wrinkles are only visible when you contract certain muscles. One example is smiling.
The second is known as under eye wrinkles which are a natural part of the aging process and are of course harmless. Unfortunately as we age, our skin loses its ability to renew itself with the skin the in the area under the eyes being particularly susceptible to this aging process because it is thinner here.
And then there is a third known as wrinkled retina which is another name for an epiretinal membrane or ERM. This develops from the growth of scar tissue across the surface of the retina in the macular area. This relatively clear scar tissue can contract and cause the retina to wrinkle which can result in distorted or blurred vision.
How to prevent eye wrinkles?
There are various actions you can take to help to prevent those wrinkles around the eyes.
Remember that the skin around your eyes is very delicate, so it’s important to be gentle with it so that wrinkles don’t appear prematurely, taking special care of the skin around your eyes can help them to stay smooth and wrinkle-free
- Avoid pulling your eyes taut when applying eye makeup. Although you may find it easier to apply eye makeup by pulling on the eyes, this method can actually cause eye wrinkles. When applying eye shadow, eye liner or mascara, be gentle and only lightly touch the skin around the eyes. If you take your time, the make up will go on evenly without having to pull on your skin.
- At the end of the day, take the same care to remove any eye makeup gently. Apply remover to a soft cotton swab before holding it over the eyelid for several seconds. Then gently wipe the make up away after giving it time to dissolve first.
- Avoid touching the skin around the eyes more than necessary, keeping your fingers away from your eyes and helping to delay the appearance of wrinkles. Be careful not to rub your eyes when you wake up and should you ever cry, dab away the tears without wiping your eye area.
- Allergies can make your eyes itch so if this is something that affects you, take any necessary steps to get allergies under control and avoid rubbing your eyes.
- Your skin needs to be well hydrated to look smooth and supple. It is possible that tiny lines around the eyes can be caused by dehydration rather than aging. So remember to drink your several glasses of water each and every day.
- Cigarettes contain more than 4,000 chemicals that damage collagen and elastin. For example, nicotine causes the blood vessels to constrict in the skin’s outer layers, which impairs blood flow meaning your skin is missing out on some oxygen or vital nutrients like vitamin A. Alcohol can also speed up the aging process.
- We all need a good night's sleep especially at night when our bodies heal. Sleep deficiency can lead to an increased risk of health issues as well as sallow, sagging skin. A lack of sleep can mean fine lines and wrinkles. At the same time, how you sleep is also important. For example, if you sleep on your side with your face pressed against the pillow, it can lead to the creation of deep under-eye creases. Try to sleep on your back or switch to a smooth satin or silk pillow to reduce creasing.
- Eat a healthy diet full of a wide variety of fruits and vegetables and avoid processed and sugary foods. Foods rich in vitamins C, E, and A and coenzyme Q10, found in fish, are antioxidants that can help reduce and prevent aging signs while salmon and mackerel are rich in Omega-3’s, which help moisturize the skin and protect it from UV damage. Carrots have high levels of beta-carotene — a nutrient that is known to help protect the skin against free radical damage.
Egg whites for a natural home remedy
